History In The Making
The Windsor Historical Society is located on the Windsor Fairgrounds and consists of twelve restored buildings. Displays of 19th and early 20th century artifacts provide a trip down memory lane for young and old alike. There are many demonstrations during fair week – working blacksmith shop, hand-operated printing press, a working loom, cooking over a fireplace and cook stove and an active pottery shop. Our newest exhibits include the Weeks Mills Water Company Tower and a new post and beam lumber mill building.
During the Windsor Fair, the historic Village is open daily from 9:00 AM until sundown. Admission is free to all buildings included with your fair admission! We have many demonstrations ongoing each day.
Tours may also be available at other times during the year.
Our meetings are the second Wednesday of months April through November @ 7:00 PM. Everyone is welcome to attend the meetings in the Malta Room on the fairgrounds.
